True crime writer Kacie Manning vowed to expose the serial killer suspected of murdering her mother And she was going to use the killer's son to do it But Ryan Brody wasn't at all what she expectedThe sexy polic. D Ryan is the one who rescues her From that point there is an intense attraction between them that neither has much luck resisting Ryan finds her terribly distracting and it s sometimes amusing to see the way he loses focus when he s around her He s determined to keep things professional because he really does want her help clearing his father s name Kacie Finds Ryan Just As Distracting And Is Also Fighting The Ryan John Dollar just as distracting and is also fighting the she feels for misleading him In spite of it all theyust can t keep their hands off each other and both start thinking of what might be possible between them until Ryan discovers the secret she s been keeping from him He feels betrayed and Kacie has a hard been keeping from him He feels betrayed and Kacie has a hard convincing him that she really caresAs they work together to follow the leads in the case they start to realize that things are not adding up People that they uestion end up dead or badly hurt before they can get back to them for answers Other people or information go missing There are also attacks on Kacie that seem intent on keeping her from investigating any further The uestions that they have the Kacie realizes that she might have been wrong all along There s a really interesting twist at the end that reveals information about the killer but leaves the uestion of Detective Brody s suicide still unresolvedI m looking forward to the conclusion and will also go back and read the first two books This is the third book in the Brody Law series I didn t know that when I first decided to read it the book was a gift I thought this book was pretty good I thought the prose was great the story had a nice flow to it Shockingly I could have done without the love scenes I am really enjoying this series by Carol This is book 3 and is Ryan s story He is the police chief of a small town outside of San Francisco but comes into San Fran to help out the true crime write Kacie She wants to find out who the serial killer is that killed her mother but doesn t tell Ryan that because she feels it s his father Ryan wants to work with her to expose who the real killer was many years ago and exonerate his father who he feels was unjustly accused Kacie is threatened almost from the get go and she thinks it s because she s a true crime writer so it s probably from the other books she has written The attacks increase and thankfully Ryan is always there to save her Of course Ryan finds out that she is the daughter of one of the killer s victims and that doesn t go over well They begin to really work together but the attacks escalate I liked the ending of the book and the relationship Ryan and Kacie had I am looking forward to the conclusion in book 4 Carol writes such great series and the characters are always well developed The Brody Law series from Carol Ericson continues to sizzle with Book Three The Wharf Once again combing suspense and sensuality with scintillating results the author continues the hunt for The Phone Book Killer and the truth surrounding respected San Francisco police officer Joseph Brody s supposed guilt and suicide Brody s four sons were devastated by the implication of their father being a serial killer and his suicide via a leap from the Golden Gate Bridge was a stunning loss Small town police chief Ryan Brody along with his three brothers has never believed his father s guilt nor E chief hoped Kacie could clear his father's name never expecting the beautiful ournalist to have other motives Then her life was threatened and Ryan's protective instincts kicked into overdrive Now as his past. ,
